For many decades it has been a National Electrical Code requirement that all equipment be labeled by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.

This was seldom, if ever enforced by the local AHJ's (Authority Having Jurisdiction or Building Department Inspector).

The importance of equipment labeling has become an major issue because a large percentage of manufacturing and production equipment is now being made in other countries.

Labeling has become a prime issue with Building Departments, Insurance Companies, and Company Executives who are concerned about Safety in their facilities.

What is Field Labeling Remediation?

When the Building department requires your new... or old equipment to be Field Labeled, the first step is to have the equipment Field Evaluated. We offer this as the first step in our turn-key package of services.

Once the Field Evaluation is done, a report is provided that states what components, or wiring methods do not meet the UL safety standards.

The action of doing the adjustments needed based on the list of non-compliant components and methods, is remediation.

The Second part of Turn-Key Service is to provide the remediation services needed based on the report.

What is involved in the remediation process?

The remediation process addresses the individual non-compliant components or wiring methods that need to be adjusted to bring the equipment up to the UL Standards.

This can be :

• Safety labeling issues.

• Manufacturer's labeling issues.

• Replacing Non-Labeled Components

• Testing and or replacing wire that is not UL labeled.

• Adjusting the equipment circuits so that missing, undersized or non-labeled components are made suitable to meet the standards.

• Adding Safety circuitry where needed.

• Wire color issues.
